Three Killed in Accident on Cipali Highways kilometer 135

   Three people were killed in a collision between a bus, a car and a truck at 11.00 p.m. on Cipali Highways kilometer 135

   The dead were all passengers in the car. Police believe the driver of the travel car was sleepy than the travel car may have been trying to overtake the bus when it was struck by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the car may not have been using his lights, as the truck driver said he did not see the car approaching.

   The police said the car should not have been trying to pass the bus, since overtaking is not allowed on Cipali Highways kilometer 135. In addition, the police reported that the car should not have been carrying more than five people. The name of the victims are not yet known.

  Jakarta (Jakarta Post) - At least 10 people have been killed, including some children, after a truck crashed on  Wednesday near a bus stop outside a school in Bekasi, West Java province, police said. The students were  waiting at the bus stop after class when the truck veered toward them and crashed into two motorcycles and  toppled a concrete communications tower, traffic policeman Latif Usman said. Usman said 20 children were  also injured in the crash. "We are conducting an investigation to assess if the brakes failed," said Usman.  Another police official in Bekasi said the driver had been detained. Images from the scene showed the  communications tower had fallen across the road outside the school's gates and crashed into the bus stop on the  sidewalk. At least 23 others, including 14 primary school students, were injured and taken to two nearby hospitals for treatment, Usman said.

Images from the scene showed the communications tower had fallen  across the road outside the school's gates and crashed into the bus stop on the sidewalk.    Images from the scene of the crash showed twisted metal and debris as rescuers helped the victims. Police said they were still investigating the cause of the crash. "So far we didn't see any indication of brake failure but we are still investigating the accident," said Latif, quoted by AFP. The driver had been detained but had not been questioned because he was "still in shock", he added.
