The Nature of Greeting Cards

form of communication mediated by an item produced for the mass market, thereby
encumbering the expression of an individual’s interiority, is not a
universally-held view, and indeed, much more likely to be found amongst people
with more formal education. In addition Wibowo and Aji (2017: 223) greeting
card is a card to express someone’s feeling to others using interesting
pictures.
Greeting
Card is usually used to congratulate someone’s achievement or to express a
compliment and the purpose of writing greeting card to congratulate, to wish or
to symphaty fo someone or other feel and expression for wish and pray. Putrawan
(2014: 2) define Greeting card as a practical and unique way to communicate
with others. Although there are many means of communication through the
distance, but sometimes people need a permanent or semi permanent record for
their special occasions. Furthermore, certain types of message are more
appropriate in writing form, especially greeting card. Greeting card is still
used by modern people to greet their family, friend, colleague, etc. It may
seem amazing that in this day and age of the Internet, people still send
greeting cards.
