INTRODUCTION
This chapter consists of background,
problem statement, objective of the research, significant of the research and
scope of the research.
A. Background
Language plays a great
part in human life. Without language people can not make interaction each
other. In our life, the function of
language is a tool of communication to relate to one and another. By the study
of language, people or students can learn many things.
There are many students
who have learn English for many years since they are in elementary school until
senior high school, but most of them still cannot understand English well.
Particularly the four basic language skills, between reading, speaking,
writing, and listening. Reading is one of the most important elements of a
language.
Reading is benefit and
influences the other language skills. Through reading the people can also
obtain information which can help them understand and solve various problems
which come constantly in their live, live wise the students at collage or
university should conceive of how important reading in learning. It is
important that the students who want to develop their knowledge should have
ability in reading and comprehending some books, magazine, leaflets, brochures,
journals, newspaper and??????????
